People Like Her

Story:

A good friend of mine had a heartbreaking, back stabbing event occur in an online relationship. His story and his original lyrics really got the point across in respect to how he felt. I've toned it way down but felt I had to include at least a bit of profanity to preserve the emotion he was conveying. I still have his original lyric and will someday use it in a remake of this one for sure!

Lyrics:

PEOPLE LIKE HER
By: Jose’ Luis Diaz-9-29-2008-1:08PM-1:25PM
(V-1)
She told me to delete her comments
She said it was a bug her profile had
She promised to return wit a new page
Next I knew she married away
(Chorus-1)
(Now) I’m so sick, it doesn’t even hurt
(But) I’m so sick, it’s just worthless
I’m so sick, yeah I’m so sick
(Yeah) I’m so sick, of people like her
(V-2)
No invite not even a hint
Threw my hands up screamed “there it went!”
I was naïve but that’s my style
Tripped on a lie and landed in a pile (of shit)
(Lead)
(Bridge)
Is it too much to ask for the truth
It’s never enough no matter what I do
This always stings then goes away
I brush myself off get back into play
“You were such a fucking bitch anyway-----H!”
(Chorus-2)
(Now) I’m so sick, it doesn’t even hurt
(But) I’m so sick, it’s just worthless
I’m so sick, “She fades to a blur”
(Yeah) I’m so sick, of people like her

She makes me sick, she makes me sick (4X)
(Yeah) I’m so sick, of people like her

Minds Meat Instrumental

World Burns Down

Minds Meat

Story:

It always amazes me, that we humans, with all our intellect, all our abilities, choose our own destruction over our survival by the actions we take in regards to one another. This idea started when I wondered what the world would look like after our species is gone. What would it look like from the vantage point there at the end of my own drivway?

A few million years from now, an archeologist may turn over the soil and discover a few pieces of our long dead civilization. As the pieces are turned over, what will they accept? What will they reject? as their minds meet ours in poignant discovery. What artifacts will come to be the tokens by which we are remembered? What mark will we have left? Will the memories of who we were take up a stately set of bookshelves and archival specimen drawers? Will we have a dark obscure corner with barely a single artifact and no explanation save for the lonley dead worlds coordinates. Tastey morsels for those who contemplate the future of mankind. Just as tastey to those who will discover that ther once was life here, intelligent or not.

Lyrics:

MINDS MEAT
By: Jose’ Luis Diaz-8-21-2008-12:00mdt-12:20am
(V-1)
Here once ran the highway, there once stood the house
That way were the towers, now there’s nothing left
Vultures overhead, howling in the distance
The sky’s a different color, nature does not care
(Pre)
Disputes have long been settled, lofty goals achieved
Some tasted success, some tasted defeat
(Chorus)
(And) minds did meet
Thoughts were sweet, eyes connected
Chosen, rejected
(But) minds did meet (Lead)
(V-2)
No one to remember, how it all turned out
Everyone had triggers, words just got left out
(Pre-2)
The smoke has blown away, damages erased
Time has filled the niche, something’s gone extinct
(Bridge)
Who will find the fossils, who will trace the words?
Shed light on foundations, tell tales of the earth
(Chorus-2)
(And) minds will meet
Thoughts will be sweet, eyes will connect
Choose, and reject
(But) minds will meet
(Lead out)

Wisdoms Alloy

Somber Solace

Story:

This was written right after a dream. I initially included some piano tips but then just went with the tune and let it write itself. The tips were for time signatures. It's the only track with any keyboard/synth on it. (That is the truth I swear!)

The world is in the final throes of death. Two people face the darkness of the future, content in the lives they've lived. The great unknown approaches. Though the characters are not alone, the song oozes a deadly amount of lonliness. The cup of meloncholy overflows into a deluge that floods the mind like a symbolic ocean of tears. Life is castaway on a current that will never return to any place of the living as there will no longer be any place to live.

Lyrics:

SOMBER SOLACE
By: Jose’ Luis Diaz-11-17-2008-6:00am-6:39am-after dream
(V-1) (Vox 4/4-piano 2/4)
I don’t know what you’ll dream my friend, but I’ll be right here to the end
Remembering, the things we dreamed

I don’t know where you’ll go my friend, but I’m sure we’ll get there again
Remembering, the way it seemed

The sun is softly trembling, I don’t think it will rise again
Remember them, the warmth within

If we pull the shades we’ll miss the stars, though the closest ones are still too far
Will you find me---H, will I find you---H

(Chorus) (Piano 4/4-arppeggioes)
The world outside is pretzel bent,
The two of us lie here content
Remembering, good time spent
Remembering, the way things went
Remembering, remembering------H
(V-2)
I will dream of you my friend, so you can be there in the end
Remembering, the dreams we dreamed

I don’t know where we go from here, but I’m sure we’ll all get there again
Remembering, the way it seemed

The wind won’t blow between the leaves, but we’ll all taste what memories leave
Remember them, the warmth within

We made it thru a million wars, but this is worse by far and far
Will you find me---H, will I find you---H
(Bridge)
The memories fly away, skipping on the moments
The memories fly away, dive into the distance
The silence invades----H, as what we are fades------H
(Lead)
(Chorus here)
(Lead out/fade out)

Apocalypse

Story:

LEGASYS performed this song on many occasions. It was one heck of a show stopper. Herman's Bass, Roland's drums, and Joel's vocals, did it a lot of justice!

Even in my youth I was dreaming of the end times. Nightmares were an almost nightly occurence. After so many years of bad dreams I am now at ease with any and all scenes that invade my sleep. This is my take on the book of Revelation. Those 16 holves are thundering louder everyday.

Lyrics:

APOCALYPSE
By: JOSE DIAZ-(written in high school-LEGASYS era)
(V-1)
The wind blows strong,
This night seems too long
The ground trembles,
I know there’s something wrong
The moon shines red,
Its face it seems to run
The sinners pray,
Until tomorrow comes
(Chorus)
The four horsemen ride out from the sun
Who knows what will be when all is done
The four horsemen laugh at everyone
And God he has warned of what shall come
Yeah, yeah
Apocalypse!
(V-2)
The time is near,
Tonight blood will run
All heads may roll, before tomorrow comes
The first to die,
Will suffer the least
But souls will cry,
Being eaten by the beast
(Chorus here)
(Lead)
(Chorus here)

Cold Day in Hell

Story:

LEGASYS never did perform this one live and the original lyric is lost to me. Joel, Herman, and I wrote one day and never really finished it. I have since re-written it and the current lyric is a mere shadow of the original. It still tells the same story but there are differences that stand out clear to me. You will hear multiple vocals in a lot of my tunes. That's because LEGASYS was becoming a 3 or 4 vocalist band. Roland, the drummer, was a bit reluctant but did sing on our only studio ep.

Lyrics:

COLD DAY IN HELL
By: JOSE DIAZ-12/28/2008-6:10AM-7:26AM
(V-1)
I walked around hell, what did I see
Fifty-trillion souls lookin’ at me
Snow was all around and still comin’ down, and hey,
More angels were on the way
(LEAD)
I walked up to Jesus and looked him in the eye
It was plain to see that he had cried,
We sighed, we all sighed
He had cried
(V-2)
When life got heavy, he gave a hand
I never saw him comin’, but that was his plan
I realize the way it’s got to be
When I gave up he carried me, we all cried
We all cried
We all cried
(Chorus)
It’s a cold day in hell
It’s a cold day in hell
It’s a cold day in hell
It’s a cold day in hell
(LEAD OUT)

You Wont Decide

Story:

The inevitable includes final judgment. We shall all form that last long line that will lead to a re-play of our lives. It will take nearly an infinity for all of us to get thru it, but we will all go thru the final task for all souls. This is my vision of how that will look and feel. I wonder how close to the actual scene I have come?

Lyrics:

U WON’T DECIDE
By: JOSE DIAZ 1-21-2009 5:55AM – 6:18AM
(I)
Single file, to this we all go
Whispers bouncing back, so we all know
Feathers beat, the ether all around
A single voice ahead, drowns out the sound
(Chorus)
Nothing left to fade into, nowhere left to hide
The book is opened up to your page, will you fall or rise
You won’t decide
(II)
Clear across, the ravages of time
Approaching is, the end of this design
Shield your eyes, you cannot shield your soul
The pain is new, but the story is old
(Chorus here)
(Bridge)
Infinity approaches
Beside the lake of fire
All lifetimes will replay
From birth to when (we/you) die
(Chorus here)
(Lead out,,,WAY OUT!!!!)

Endedend

Story:

I use a lot of word-play. The title to this is no exception. "Eden" is where we all began. "End" is where we're all headed. I slammed those two words together in a lot of configurations and came up with the final title. The lyric here still has an old version. The final cut, as you may find in quite a bit of my material, may differ slightly from what was originally written.

Here we find ourselves a bit farther along in the final line to judgment. Our emotions are evolving. Chaos is trickeling in. The pressuer of past nostalgia is building up behind us, pushing us forever forward. We are beginning to judge ourselves. We count the blades of grass we trampled, the flies we squashed, every thought we've ever had,,,,,

Lyrics:

EDENEND
By: JOSE DIAZ-2/10/2009-7:43PM-8:38PM
(V-1)
Everything that was, is now, no, more
Time is unwound, we’re past counting down

Memories replay, we re’-live every day
Rip off the scabs, own up and pay your tab
(Pre-1)
We, burned with passion, we lost more than everything
We, struggled on, past the end of every song
(Chorus)
Eden has ended, too long ago
Babylon has been rebuilt
Destruction overflowed

Knowledge is poison, all it did was grow
Festering fallacies
Fade with the glow [(2nd add “AWAY!!!!-----HHHHH)]
(V-2)
We elevated beauty, and, kept score
We coveted much, and found, so much more
(Pre-2)
We, cannot repent, confession won’t change the score
Move, along, you know what you’ve got in store
(Chorus here)
(Lead out)
