It always amazes me, that we humans, with all our intellect, all our abilities, choose our own destruction over our survival by the actions we take in regards to one another. This idea started when I wondered what the world would look like after our species is gone. What would it look like from the vantage point there at the end of my own drivway?
A few million years from now, an archeologist may turn over the soil and discover a few pieces of our long dead civilization. As the pieces are turned over, what will they accept? What will they reject? as their minds meet ours in poignant discovery. What artifacts will come to be the tokens by which we are remembered? What mark will we have left? Will the memories of who we were take up a stately set of bookshelves and archival specimen drawers? Will we have a dark obscure corner with barely a single artifact and no explanation save for the lonley dead worlds coordinates. Tastey morsels for those who contemplate the future of mankind. Just as tastey to those who will discover that ther once was life here, intelligent or not.
MINDS MEAT

(V-1)
Here once ran the highway, there once stood the house
That way were the towers, now there’s nothing left
Vultures overhead, howling in the distance
The sky’s a different color, nature does not care
(Pre)
Disputes have long been settled, lofty goals achieved
Some tasted success, some tasted defeat
(Chorus)
(And) minds did meet
Thoughts were sweet, eyes connected
Chosen, rejected
(But) minds did meet (Lead)
(V-2)
No one to remember, how it all turned out
Everyone had triggers, words just got left out
(Pre-2)
The smoke has blown away, damages erased
Time has filled the niche, something’s gone extinct
(Bridge)
Who will find the fossils, who will trace the words?
Shed light on foundations, tell tales of the earth
(Chorus-2)
(And) minds will meet
Thoughts will be sweet, eyes will connect
Choose, and reject
(But) minds will meet
(Lead out)
